こんにちは、昨日は２３日目のレッスンを終了しました。日本企業の「根回し」編、終了です！
フリートークの時間で、日本語の「たいこ持ち(Taikomochi, The Japanese drummer)」の話が出ました。
The Japanese drummer means not only the people who play the Japanese drum literally but also the people who flatter or praise someone all the time. This is because when people listen the rhythm of beating the drum, they always feel comfortable and encouraged. Similarly, when they are praised or flattered, they sure to get the same feeling.
面白いことに、学習者さんの母国語テルグ語にも、「Dappu kotattam」、Dappuが「たいこ」でkotattamが「叩く」という同じ言葉があるそうです。もちろん、意味も同じそうです。
言葉は違うけど、考え方は同じなんですね！勉強になりました。
